丹麦卫生机构周一表示，鉴于乌克兰战争之忧，当局决定将购买 200 万片碘片，以便于在这个北欧国家附近发生核事故时保护民众。
碘被认为是保护身体在受到放射性照射时免于罹患甲状腺癌等病症的一种方式，对乌克兰核事故的担忧正在促使欧洲各地进行储备。
“过去两年新冠大流行的发展状况向我们表明，做好准备非常重要。乌克兰战争也告诉我们，世界是不可预测的，”该机构在一份新闻通稿中说。
丹麦卫生部长 Magnus Heunicke 在一份电子邮件评论中说，丹麦距离乌克兰最近的核电站有 900 多公里，目前对丹麦没有具体的风险。
丹麦没有核电站，但离瑞典和德国的一些核电站很近。如果丹麦附近的这些核电站发生事故，或者在丹麦水域的核动力船舶上发生事故，储备的这些碘片可用于应对。
据丹麦卫生机构估计，200 万片的储存将可以覆盖风险群体，包括 18 岁以下的儿童，年轻人，孕妇和哺乳妇女以及 40 岁以下的急救人员。
该机构称，对于 40 岁以上的人来说，服用碘片没有任何保护作用。
第一批配送预计将在两到三个月内进行。
