据美联社报道，世界卫生组织决定将中国科兴公司生产的可用于18岁以上成年人的新冠肺炎疫苗列入紧急使用清单，这是该组织第二次将中国企业研发的疫苗列入紧急使用清单。
世卫组织周二在一份声明中说，提交给专家的数据显示，接种了两剂科兴疫苗的人中，约有一半人不会出现COVID-19感染症状。世卫组织表示，参与研究的老年人很少，因此无法估计疫苗对60岁以上人群的有效性。
“但是，世卫组织并不建议设定疫苗接种的年龄上限，”该机构表示，从科兴疫苗在其他国家的使用中收集的数据看，“该疫苗可能对老年人有保护作用。”
今年4月，巴西的一个科学家团队发表的一项研究证实了此前报道的科兴疫苗的有效性超过50%。今年4月在智利进行的一项实际研究发现，该疫苗的有效性为67%。
世卫组织的授权意味着捐助方和其他联合国机构可以购买紧急使用清单中的疫苗，捐赠给较贫穷国家，包括联合国支持的全球分发COVID-19疫苗的COVAX计划。
今年5月，欧洲药品监管机构对科兴生物制品有限公司的疫苗启动了加速审查程序，但目前还不清楚何时会对该公司疫苗获得欧盟批准做出决定。
中国已通过双边协议向全球数十个国家运送了数亿剂疫苗。
