Moderna 公司周三表示，该公司已经开始专门针对Omicron变种新冠病毒疫苗加强针的中期测试。就在一天前，其竞争对手辉瑞公司也启动了一项类似的试验。
Moderna公司表示，虽然原始疫苗的加强针在较低剂量下提高了对这种变种的中和抗体，但在接种加强针6个月后，抗体的水平下降明显。
不过，中和性抗体在所有参与者中仍然能检测得到，Moderna说。
Moderna表示，它将在18岁及以上的成年人中测试其Omicron特异性加强针。
该公司表示，它将在只接受了两剂量的Moderna原始疫苗初级系列的个体中，以及在同一种疫苗的初级系列和一次加强针的个体中测试其加强针。
Moderna计划在两组中各招募约300名参与者。
由美国疾病控制和预防中心领导的三项研究表明，第三剂量的mRNA疫苗，如辉瑞和Moderna的疫苗，是对抗Omicron变种的关键。
一些国家已经开始提供额外的加强针，但以色列最近的一项研究表明，虽然第四剂mRNA疫苗可以增强抗体，但抗体水平不足以预防Omicron感染。
